Hi, I'm Mora, the founder of CarryJoys.
I've always been drawn to bags with texture: a woven handle, a crocheted flower, a braided pattern. The details that make you reach out and touch something, then turn it over for a closer look. They feel personal. They remind me of the time, patience and care that can go into an everyday object.
That feeling became the heart of CarryJoys.
We curate handmade crocheted and woven bags, alongside hand-finished and craft-inspired pieces, for small escapes and everyday rituals: weekend markets, beach walks, picnics, short trips, coffee dates and meaningful gifts.
Alongside ready-to-carry pieces, our DIY kits invite you to slow down and make something yourself. A flower taking shape between your fingers. A tiny tree built branch by branch. A puzzle that becomes a vase. We want making to feel welcoming, whether you're returning to a hobby or trying something new.
Our name still says what we believe: the things you carry should bring joy into ordinary life.
For me, that joy lives in small moments. Reaching for a favorite bag as you head out. Turning a finished project around in your hands and thinking, “I made this.” Giving someone a gift and seeing that they understand why you chose it.
It also means recognizing the women whose time and skill help bring products like these to life.
Through The CarryJoys Craft Circle, our long-term aim is to support flexible, paid work for women, including mothers, caregivers, women returning to employment and older women whose experience is too often overlooked. That can include selected handmade production, hand-finishing, kit preparation, quality checking and packaging.
We believe a woman's skills deserve recognition at every stage of her life. As these partnerships develop, we want to share the people, the work and the progress behind them.
That same care extends to the things we use and the environment we share. When someone has spent time making a bag, or you've spent an afternoon finishing a project, I hope it becomes something you want to keep. Carry it often. Look after it. Repair it when possible, or pass it on for someone else to enjoy.
As CarryJoys grows, we want to reduce unnecessary packaging, give clearer information about materials and share practical care guidance. We also encourage keeping usable leftover craft materials for another project. These are the everyday choices we want to build on, with changes we can explain clearly as they happen.
We are still at the beginning of this journey. Each product has its own materials and way of being made. Some pieces are handmade, some are hand-finished, others are ready-made, and some are made by you. We want you to know what you're choosing, what you'll receive and what you'll create yourself.
